Maldonado’s Punishment

Hi Racers,

Unless you fell asleep during yesterdays qualifying you would know that Pastor Maldonado, of the Williams team, took a deliberate swipe on track at Hamilton following a slightly stressful Q2 session at Spa in the wet. Causing Hamilton damage to his McLaren.

Maldonado has been criticised for his less than appropriate swipe at Hamilton on track. The stewards agree and have handed him a 5 place grid penalty.

The stewards of course, didn’t take kindly and his punishment has been set as a 5 grid penalty. He qualified 16th, and will now start 21st.

Hamilton was given a warning for his involvement ( even though, there wasnt any on his part, but I guess the Stewards have to act “neutral”) but no penalty.

Many were so irate at the obvious unsportsman like behaviour that they wouldn’t have been surprised, and even encouraged, a full race disqualification. It seems, this wasnt to be the case.

Hopefully Maldonado can keep a lid on his frustration and keep girly tiffs to off the race track.

Until next time,

Keep Racing
